A tender for the contractor of the bicycle town has been announced, the decision will be made in July. And the entire investment will be completed this year.
The Bicycle Town is a project that was created with children and young people in mind. Its main goal is to acquire the ability to safely use roads and squares while respecting the rights of all road users, including people with disabilities. Through play, young people will learn about road signs and rules, becoming aware of the dangers they are exposed to on a daily basis. The town’s equipment will include streets, intersections, bicycle paths, a roundabout, sidewalks, railway tracks, signs and traffic lights.
The facility will host classes as part of communication education organized by directors and teachers, road safety knowledge tournaments conducted by the police and first aid lessons in cooperation with instructors.
The town will be built at Kusocińskiego Street, called the “Health Path” in the sports and recreation area. In the immediate vicinity there is a sports field, an outdoor gym, a “health path” and recreational green areas.
The nearest similar investment is located in the Municipality of Chełmiec.
