What does IP65 mean?
The IP65 rating indicates the level of protection of the device housing against external factors in accordance with IEC 60529.
The first number 6 indicates full protection against dust and dust, while the number 5 indicates resistance to water jets falling from different directions.
In practice:
IP65 rated devices are designed to withstand demanding environments – they perform well in environments exposed to dust, moisture and precipitation. However, they are not designed to be submerged underwater.
