What does IPX5 mean?
The IPX5 rating indicates the level of protection of the device against water according to IEC standard 60529.
In this case, the letter X indicates that the dust protection class has not been specified, while the number 5 indicates resistance to water jets directed from different directions.
In practice:
The IPX5 rated device is resistant to rain, splashes and pressurized water. However, this protection does not mean that the device can be submerged in water.
